Here's the new, probably temporary, logo for Cellar Roots 2012-13. As always, I kept with a minimalist design. I used the font and geometric styling from last year's tuxedo inspired book as a nod to the past. But I updated the style with some funky colors and jagged shapes to give a little peak at what I'm kicking around for issue 42.

Cellar Roots issue #42 is a go!
Last night, we officially announced that Cellar Roots is back for issue #42. (yay!) In case you're confused by the odd timing of the announcement, don't be. Let me explain.
Normally, Cellar Roots is developed and planned for publiction in the winter semester. This puts all sorts of time and promotion obstacles in the way. Last year we put out the best issue of Cellar Roots yet but very few people got the chance to see it. This year, we'll be topping ourselves and we want everyone to see it. This way, we have all winter semester to make sure it happens.
It's a simple solution to an ongoing problem that will allow us to do so many cool things with the issue and in promotion of it. I think it's safe to say Mama and Papa Roots are pretty dang excited.
So, send in your shit! submit@cellarroots.com

We will have updates with more information as it's figured out. You'll have the rules later today and a new website by this weekend.
Thanks so much for being a part of the family. This is going to be so much fun.
PRINTING UPDATES!!!
It has been a hectic few weeks since the gallery show and we have a bit of news, some good, and some bad.
Let's start with the bad.
Due to printing delays, the book will not be ready by April 12, as originally planned. Because of this we are also moving the release party back.
We're looking at about a week delay, but we won't for sure know until this Wednesday (April 11). Stay tuned to our Facebook page to get the full details as they develop.
Lastly, because of everything that has happened behind the scenes, we will only have 500 copies available. This unprecedented low number of copies will mean that some people may not get one. But for those who do, you're going to want to keep them.
Now for the good news.
Because this has been a long time coming and we want you to experience the book as soon as possible, we are still going to release the book on April 12. How? Digital.
Starting at noon on April 12, you will be able to download an EPUB or a PDF of the entire book for FREE! Yes, we're aware that the printed book is also FREE!, but we like to remind you.
On the page where you download the book, you will have the option to donate money for the release party. Part of the reason for the delay is that printing ended up costing double what we originally planned. Anything you can give to help us out would be greatly appreciated.
Although it's not guaranteed, we are going to try to have another version of the book in the Amazon Kindle store. We'll talk more about that IF it happens.
That's all your updates for now, thanks for being a part of the Cellar Roots family.

Moving along.
This past month has been mad hectic. But, it's gotten us very far, which is much better than where we were last month.
Submissions are now rolling in, we've got our first event scheduled for January 19th. You can check though out here.
Overall, things are looking good. This should be a really awesome edition of CR! I know this is a bit short, but we just wanted to give you folks a quick update on what's going on over here at Cellar Rooooooots! headquaters.
Ta.
Inaugural Post
So, here we are. December 2011 officially launching the all-new CellarRoots.com. I'm quite excited!
Right now, submissions are open. But, we're still planning much of the issue to come. For my part, design, I'm pretty it's going to be the dopest issue ever. But, you know, I may be biased (probs, but I'm still right.)
We've got a new team, mew ideas, new vision, and yet we're keeping that same ol' Ypsi spirit. It's that spirit that has kept CR going for 41 years.
For now I bid you adieu, I'm sleepy and have been working since 9:30am (it's about 7pm). Good night fair Ypsi, I'll be seeing you laters!
